
The Department of Biomedical Engineering Holds a Faculty Meeting in Preparation for the Second Academic Semester
The Department of Biomedical Engineering held a faculty meeting in preparation for the start of the second academic semester. The meeting was chaired by the esteemed Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Wissam Kazem Hamdan, and attended by the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Janan Sattar Khashan, as well as the esteemed heads of branches and faculty members.
The Head of the Department opened the meeting by conveying the directives of the esteemed University President, which emphasized enhancing the educational process and improving academic performance. He also expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the faculty members for their dedication and tremendous efforts, which contributed to the success of the first semester and the completion of examinations in an outstanding manner, adhering to the highest standards.
The meeting addressed the Student Discipline Code and the importance of students adhering to university regulations, which reinforce academic discipline and proper conduct. Additionally, the relationship between faculty members and students was discussed, with the Head of the Department stressing the necessity of building it on mutual respect and constructive communication to foster a motivating learning environment. The importance of students attending lectures on time was also emphasized as a key aspect of respecting the educational process and enhancing their productivity.
Furthermore, the discussion highlighted the significance of faculty awareness regarding the objectives of their courses to ensure improved teaching quality and guide students toward achieving the desired learning outcomes. Faculty members were encouraged to design activities that support the application of knowledge. The meeting underscored the need to develop and properly implement educational portfolios (portfolios), ensuring that learning outcomes are aligned with the objectives of the university and department, thereby meeting the required academic quality standards.
The Head of the Department concluded the meeting with several recommendations, including reinforcing values of discipline and respect between students and faculty members, ensuring that each course has clear objectives that contribute to the institution’s vision, and maintaining continuous dialogue and positive guidance to achieve the institution’s academic goals.
