A virtual workshop on bone mechanics and its applications in medical engineering, presented by Prof. Dr. Gholam Reza Ruhi – Amir Kabir University.

On the occasion of the golden jubilee of the establishment of the University of Technology, and to enhance joint scientific cooperation with international universities, the Biomedical Engineering Department organized a distinguished scientific virtual workshop under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, President of the University of Technology. The department held a virtual workshop under the supervision of Prof. Dr.Sadeq Hussein Bakhy, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department.

through the Memorandum of Understanding Committee, held an online virtual workshop on bone mechanics and its applications in medical engineering, presented by Prof. Dr. Gholam Reza Ruhi – Amir Kabir University / Islamic Republic of Iran.

The workshop included a comprehensive scientific presentation on the physiology of bone formation, from the role of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, the mechanisms of bone growth and regeneration, to the factors affecting bone strength mechanically and biologically. The workshop also discussed the anatomical structure and tissues of bone, highlighting the most important medical applications of bone mechanics in the fields of orthopedics and implantology, especially in the design of artificial limbs and joints, and dental implants that are biocompatible with the surrounding bone.

Special emphasis was placed on spinal stabilization techniques as one of the advanced clinical uses, by reviewing the latest surgical and non-surgical methods used in stabilization, and modern tools made of advanced biomaterials that ensure stability and stimulate healing, while minimizing complications and improving clinical outcomes.

The workshop witnessed fruitful discussions among the faculty members, during which they exchanged visions on the prospects of research in the field of bone substitute materials and the importance of developing innovative treatment methods that keep pace with global developments.

After the workshop, the head of the department praised the efforts exerted to make this scientific activity a success, stressing the importance of such initiatives in opening new horizons for international academic cooperation, and pointing out the possibility of organizing similar workshops.
